Your business or personal needs will determine the type of MassBroadband 123 (MB123) service you will require. Below is an overview of the types of services the network can enable.
Ethernet and Broadband Services
![]() | Our Ethernet and Broadband Services deliver network connectivity over short and long haul circuits over 100 percent fiber infrastructures. We offer multiple bandwidth options starting with 5 Mbps all the way up to 10 Gbps, and beyond. The services include a single User Network Interface (UNI) and a single Virtual Private Network (VPN) membership. Additional UNI ports, VPNs, and different quality of service priority bandwidth may be purchased in conjunction with these services.
Class of Service: | Bandwidth included is in the Basic Class within the QoS architecture. Higher priority bandwidth is available through the QoS Option.
Redundancy: | Because the MB123 network is a network of rings we can provide multiple paths to all locations on the network.
Network to Network Interfaces (NNIs)
![]() | Our Network to Network Interfaces (NNIs) Services provide the ability for customers to interconnect with their applicable services via physical interface(s) at the MB123 network Regional Gateways located in Springfield and Greenfield, and the MassBroadband 123 network Global Gateways located in Cambridge and Boston, Massachusetts. These services allow for customers to access “off-net” services such as the Internet or an intranet as determined by the customer network.
Dark Fiber | |||
![]() | Our Dark Fiber Service is a network solution for those customers who need unlimited bandwidth and complete service control. We can offer single or multiple stand options and are capable of connecting multiple locations across western Massachusetts to design a dark fiber network that meets your needs.
Colocation | |||
![]() | Our Colocation Service offers customers the option to place their own electronic equipment in the Local Linx secure POI or Global/Regional Gateway facilities. Colocation enables our customers to have access to network connectivity and proper network design. The Colocation Option provides rack space, power and interconnection services in one of our environmentally controlled and monitored locations.
Global and Regional Gateway Access
![]() | Gateway to a network node that connects two networks with different transmission protocols together. Gateways serve as an entry and exit point for a network as all data must pass through or communicate with the gateway prior to being routed.
